Iwas born in Newark, New Jersey spending my youth in and around the tri-state area.
I took to photography early when I received a brownie camera as a Girl Scout and ran around taking photographs many times without film in the camera. I was intrigued with the eye through the lens and taking snaps of everything film or no film.
I decided to take a step outside my established career and returned to school after a summer study aboard program in Italy with Cornell University. Upon my return I attended Cooper Union School of Art and Design in New York, BFA in Fine Art and the University of Michigan School of Art and Design in Ann Arbor, MFA in Photography and Printmaking.
I continue my exploration of art and history taking classes and teaching around and about the Bay Area.
My assemblages have a whimsical yet serious element as I explore the narrative of family, familiar events, and interpret them as sculptural objects. While the scale of the imagery is small and confined in boxes; the subject matter gives weight to personal explorations and provokes the viewer to ponder the expanse of the moment.?
